The objectives of the Appalachian Chestnut Initiative are to
*Act as a conservatory agent for the renewal of our forest resources, especially the American chestnut.
*Renew those species of coverage plants which serve to provide cover for the soil, food for animals and humans, and reduce carbon dioxide by photosynthesis.
*Work to provide plants to private and public entities to increase the number of Chestnuts and annual oaks.
*Providing educational opportunities to public schools and the public.
*Consult and cooperate with other conservatory organizations.
