About Us

Morton Buildings, Inc. has been building a legacy of quality, innovation, and craftsmanship for more than 120 years. The company’s roots date back to 1903, when John Getz, Sr. founded the Interlocking Fence Company in Morton, Illinois. What began as a small hardware and fence business grew alongside America’s agricultural industry, eventually expanding into grain storage and farm buildings.

In the late 1940s, Henry A. Getz recognized the growing need for durable buildings to protect farm equipment, livestock, and supplies. His vision helped lay the foundation for Morton Buildings as we know it today. The company became known for its distinctive appearance, quality construction, lasting craftsmanship, and strong warranties.

In 2017, Morton Buildings transitioned from a family-owned company to a 100% employee-owned company. Today, its employees have a personal investment in the company’s success and in providing outstanding service and quality to every customer.

Morton operates more than 100 employee-owned construction centers and seven manufacturing facilities, allowing the company to maintain greater control over quality, production, timelines, and service.

More than a century after its beginning, Morton Buildings continues its tradition of innovation while remaining committed to the quality and customer service that built its reputation.
