About Us

Twenty years ago the board of director of the Newport Theatre Guild formed a task force and changed them with developing mission goals and objectives for the Guild. The work of the task force was formally adopted by the board and has remained without change for two decades.
MISSON STATEMENT
The Newport Theatre Guild was established to create in Cocke County a complete cultural arts organization to foster interest and participation in creative expression. The Guild is committed to involving youth and adults in the adventure of the artistic world.
Goal 1: To bring the wider world of art to our home region by producing and presenting a broad repertoire of theatre and art events

Goal 2: To encourage the people of our region to explore their own culture and find the art in themselves to express that culture

Goal 3: To create and operate an arts and cultural facility for the county and region

Goal 4: To serve schools, students and adults as an educational resource

Goal 5: To maintain a high standard for artistic excellence

Goal 6: To operate with fiscal integrity and strive toward financial independence
